Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup mirin
1/4 cup sake
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp grated ginger
1 tbsp grated garlic
1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
In a small sauce pan, combine soy sauce, sake, mirin, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic. Bring to a simmer over medium low heat.
Whisk together the cornstarch and 1 tbsp of water. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Continue simmering for 1 more minute until sauce has thickened.
