I decided to partake in the coffee shop trend and made various baked goods that embody my ideal cafe menu. Starting with “Millie’s Maple Buns”. My family’s dog Millie was born in Vermont, hence the maple, and these buns are almost as big and fluffy as she is.
For the butter in the dough, I used 125g of room temp butter and melted it into the whole milk in the saucepan… it seemed like the right amount of butter 🙂
I also found it easier, after spreading the cinnamon filling mixture onto the dough, to roll it up into a big log, mark out the rolls evenly and then use cotton cooking twine to cut the dough into the buns.
I will be making these maple cinnamon buns again! 🙂 the family loved them!
My father in law told me these buns were the best thing I’d ever baked! Love an easy cinnamon bun recipe that doesn’t require a ton of time. Don’t skip the step of adding heavy cream over the buns before baking!
First off… my father in law told me these were the best thing I’d EVER baked. So that’s high praise alone for these buns! There are a few things about how this recipe is written that confused me (how much butter to melt with the milk, etc) but I rewatched the YouTube episode where the recipe is featured for help 🙂 thanks for a great recipe!!!
Sorry it’s me again!! I’m confused by how big to cut the rolls. It says they should be 18 inches wide, cut into 2 in strips, which makes 9 rolls, but then the directions say to make 4 rows of 3, which would be 12 rolls.
Also to be clear I love your recipes but I’m getting confused by this one. :/ the ingredients for the dough also call for heavy cream and whole milk but the directions only mention whole milk.
The dough says to heat the butter and milk but there is no quantity for the butter. How much butter?
Tjis recipie makes my mouth water!! They look truly amazing and I cannot wait to make these!! Thank you and Merry Christmaß
